Strange child behavior
Strange behavior of the child may indicate a child’s neurosis. Neurosis is a disorder of the nervous system. It is accompanied by mood swings, increased anxiety, and somatic symptoms.
Neurosis occurs as a result of internal conflicts. Neurotic disorders can form in early childhood and are stopped, unsatisfied with basic needs.
For example, a child screams furiously when he wants something. If he doesn’t get it, anger and aggression grow in him. the child may develop phobias. The child’s psyche is just being formed. Therefore, parents should take a responsible approach to the psychological health of their baby. If the neurosis is not treated at the time, then with age it becomes part of a person and it is difficult to get rid of it.
The development of neurosis is influenced by the presence of stressful situations, the influence of the social sphere, relationships within the family, and genetic predisposition.
Types of neuroses in children
Based on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) and specialized literature, several groups of childhood neuroses can be distinguished.
- Phobic and anxiety neuroses;
- Hysterical neurosis;
- Hypochondria;
- Enuresis, encopresis;
- Tics and stutters;
- Eating disorders.
Neurosis symptoms
Symptoms can be divided into mental and physiological.
Mental symptoms of neuroses in children:
- Hyperactivity;
- Aggression;
- Fears;
- Meaningless actions;
- Self-inflicted blows, injuries;
- Isolation;
- Screams.
Physiological symptoms of neurosis in children:
- Sleep disturbance;
- Headaches;
- Tick;
- Stuttering;
- Nightmares.
There are many symptoms in a child’s strange behavior. Parents need to be observant.
